Music Director and Radio Host, 97.1 AMP Radio

Yesi Ortiz is a Mexican American radio host and music director for 97.1 AMP RADIO in Los Angeles.  She has 16 years in the music industry with nearly 12 of those years at Power 106-FM. While there, she helped with breaking new artists with her iconic New @ 2 Feature, during her 5 hour Midday show. Contributing to the music department at Power 106 as an Assistant Music Director, Yesi’s influence caught the attention of others in the industry as her star continued to rise.

Through the years she produced a docu-series called ‘Single w/7’.  She co-hosted a television show called The Collective Powered by Vevo, which was produced by Jennifer Lopez. Her talents brought her to be casted in VH1’s Love & Hip Hop Hollywood, CBS The Talk as a Top Talker, including the fame-Spanish television show, Sabado Gigante, among many others.

In her early years, Yesi spent two years in Las Vegas and would then be recruited for a new bi-lingual San Diego radio station, based out of Tijuana, Mexico, where she hosted 7 to Midnight.  Shortly after, Yesi became a morning show co-host of AJ's Playhouse, on San Diego’s Hit Music station Channel 933 for the next two years.

Her numerous charity work, has received her recognition with the City of Los Angeles, La Opinion, receiving a "Mujeres Destecadas 2011" award, She was nominated for a National Latinas in Business Award, as well as being recognized as Adoptive Parent of the Year through the county of Orange. Yesi, balances a full-time career as a professional in the media industry, an adoptive mother and donates her free time to charitable organizations. 

Yesi is also a co-founder for the L.I.M.A COALITION (Latinos in Media & Arts) working to equalize Latino talent and recognition in the arts of and media industry.  She also produces a podcast with her partner Dr. Milo L. Dodson titled MENTAL HEALTH IS R.E.A.L. (Reflecting Empathy and Love) and can be heard on iTunes and Soundcloud.
